Frequently Asked Questions

Psychotherapy typically addresses mental health issues and emotional difficulties. This often includes helping clients work through psychological problems stemming from past trauma or other distressing experiences. In contrast, coaching is generally more present and future-oriented and emphasizes helping individuals meet their goals, grow personally and spiritually, and make informed and conscious life choices.

A first session would typically focus on establishing a productive working relationship between us. That includes building rapport and trust, exploring your reasons for seeking out coaching, clarifying what you want from our sessions, identifying what challenges you may be currently facing, as well as any obstacles that may have been holding you back from achieving your goals, and establishing how we could best work together to help you create the life you desire that supports and reflects the real “you.”
Some clients choose to work short-term focusing on a specific decision, challenge, or life transition, while others engage in a longer reflective process over time. Many clients begin with one or two sessions and then decide whether they would like to continue.

“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.”
